Against his better judgment, Scott continued to wallow in self-pity brought on by the recent (or not-so-recent) end to his long-term (or not-so-long-term) relationship with Mary Sue. Five months had gone by, though Scott would insist it felt like just yesterday she left him heartbroken. Five months happened to be longer than the duration of their love affair, but Scott had never been too good with numbers.
